“Husbands dwell with your wives giving honor as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.”
– 1 Peter 3:7
“So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies.”
– Ephesians 5:28
If it’s true that we have to major in majors in most areas of life, it’s especially true in marriage. At the end of the day, if we’re focused on Christ and our dear wives, we’ve gone a long way toward pleasing the Lord. Paul waxes eloquent about our marital relationship and then in finality says he is really talking about Christ and the Church (the bride, being daily made white and spotless). While it is certainly emotional hyperbole or at least superfluous emotion to say ‘nothing’ else matters”, if you’re living for the Lord it sure seems that way most of the time and gives us a way to think about pleasing God with everything!
Well I didn’t used to see it, but I see it now-how I’d take life by the tail and I’d show it how
But when life pulled hard left and I swung to the right, they were gone…my dreams were out of sight Of everything I hoped for, everything from A to Z, of all that’s unaccounted for and everything, the very best was the very last, and in the smallest package I forgot the past, where will we go? Which way’s the wind blow?
Chorus You are here, here with me-you’re all I want, you’re all I need! Nothing else matters, nothing else matters v2 I used to make it up, used to fantasize, even bent the truth, nearly made up lies Cause everything was there, but nothing was right and on a motionless sea, had to hold on tight You came to me and you stirred up my soul and now that I know you there is no place else to go Only your words speak peace to me, only Your words aren’t full of flattery I know that you know Chorus I know that He knows Chorus
